  My wife told me the restaurant has been around a long time, and friends had good things to say, so I was looking forward to a quality meal. The prices backed up my expectations, as did the service which was pleasant and they did well in a busy, obviously popular, setting.
  
  Alas the food was a let down. Our main courses were something of an assault on the palate. My fish was impossible to taste, the dressing overwhelmed it. Annoyingly the potatoes next to it were also placed in a strong sauce, begging for just one element of subtlety, of its own essence brought out by good cooking! But no, the green beans were even slightly overcooked, oil preventing the flavour reaching my tongue, and yet again another equally strong flavour that by now had me wincing, the whole feeling like a very unlucky dip of harshly competing flavours. Bottom line, I had to force myself to finish this dish, which is far from what I would have expected. The photo of Gordon Ramsay, shaking hands with a proprietor, made me laugh on exit. Won't return.
